Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which rose 2.41% or 160.0 points to trade at 6790.0 at the close. Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (T:5301) added 2.17% or 26.0 points to end at 1226.0 and Sony Corp (T:6758) was up 1.69% or 131.0 points to 7900.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (T:9501), which lost 4.98% or 15.0 points to trade at 286.0 in late trade. J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (T:3086) declined 4.60% or 40.0 points to end at 829.0 and Takashimaya Co., Ltd. (T:8233) shed 4.58% or 39.0 points to 813.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 2333 to 1179 and 181 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 20.83.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.27% or 0.11 to $40.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.42% or 0.18 to hit $42.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 8.00 to trade at $1903.70 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 105.53, while EUR/JPY rose 0.08% to 124.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.472.
