Investing.com – Japan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Ebara Corp. (T:6361), which rose 6.25% or 265.0 points to trade at 4505.0 at the close. CyberAgent Inc (T:4751) added 4.46% or 300.0 points to end at 7020.0 and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:9107) was up 4.38% or 105.0 points to 2500.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Japan Steel Works Ltd (T:5631), which lost 3.83% or 102.0 points to trade at 2561.0 in late trade. Shionogi & Co., Ltd. (T:4507) declined 2.96% or 180.0 points to end at 5908.0 and Ricoh Co., Ltd. (T:7752) shed 2.60% or 32.0 points to 1198.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 2432 to 1113 and 201 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 22.42.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.01% or 0.66 to $64.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.96% or 0.66 to hit $68.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.90 to trade at $1726.30 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.10% to 109.22, while EUR/JPY rose 0.03% to 130.20.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 91.950.
