Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.44% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 3.02% or 0.112 points to trade at 3.820 at the close. Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.24% or 0.2600 points to end at 11.8600 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 0.38% or 0.018 points to 4.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which lost 6.67% or 0.4500 points to trade at 6.2950 in late trade. Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) declined 6.56% or 0.3020 points to end at 4.3020 and Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) shed 5.48% or 0.0295 points to 0.5085.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 133 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.96% or 0.46 to $48.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.59% or 0.29 to hit $49.26 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.15 to trade at $1277.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7828.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 94.39.
