Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 1.52% or 0.138 points to trade at 9.198 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) added 1.36% or 0.110 points to end at 8.178 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 1.06% or 0.23 points to 21.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which lost 4.88% or 5.85 points to trade at 113.95 in late trade. Enel (MI:ENEI) declined 3.65% or 0.179 points to end at 4.727 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) shed 3.25% or 1.84 points to 54.76.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 240 to 118 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.63% or 0.43 to $67.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $72.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 8.60 to trade at $1222.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1694, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.42.
