Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which rose 3.03% or 0.0960 points to trade at 3.2690 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) added 2.77% or 0.222 points to end at 8.238 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) was up 2.04% or 0.043 points to 2.171 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which lost 1.24% or 0.17 points to trade at 13.52 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 1.10% or 0.08 points to end at 6.86 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) shed 0.50% or 0.11 points to 22.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 222 to 139 and 29 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.46% or 0.32 to $70.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.55 to hit $78.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1207.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.06.
