Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which rose 2.55% or 0.130 points to trade at 5.230 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 2.16% or 0.068 points to end at 3.218 and Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) was up 1.79% or 0.23 points to 13.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which lost 0.83% or 0.090 points to trade at 10.720 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) declined 0.63% or 0.0045 points to end at 0.7045 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) shed 0.55% or 0.080 points to 14.520.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 187 to 182 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.41% or 0.24 to $57.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.34 to hit $63.04 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1295.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.05.
