Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.42% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which rose 3.13% or 0.89 points to trade at 29.35 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 2.09% or 0.310 points to end at 15.160 and Generali (MI:GASI) was up 1.55% or 0.24 points to 15.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which lost 1.44% or 0.09 points to trade at 6.14 in late trade. Recordati (MI:RECI) declined 1.02% or 0.40 points to end at 39.00 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) shed 0.88% or 0.21 points to 23.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 216 to 165 and 13 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $51.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $56.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1287.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1806, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.01.
