Investing.com – India equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Metals and IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 lost 0.10%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN), which rose 5.31% or 137.65 points to trade at 2,730.50 at the close. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:PGRD) added 1.50% or 3.10 points to end at 209.40 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was up 1.04% or 12.50 points to 1,213.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tata Consumer Products Ltd (NS:TACN), which lost 1.69% or 13.40 points to trade at 780.90 in late trade. Coal India Ltd (NS:COAL) declined 1.63% or 3.80 points to end at 229.70 and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) shed 1.52% or 4.75 points to 307.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which rose 5.27% to 2,730.50, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:PGRD) which was up 1.45% to settle at 209.30 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which gained 1.06% to close at 1,213.40.
The worst performers were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was down 1.37% to 1,239.25 in late trade, UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which lost 1.29% to settle at 6,204.00 and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 1.28% to 3,064.95 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1016 to 810 and 53 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1876 rose and 1419 declined, while 107 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 2.60% to 18.81.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 3.40 to $1,717.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.20% or 1.06 to hit $89.51 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 1.05 to trade at $95.47 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.25% to 82.27, while EUR/INR rose 0.29% to 80.58.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 112.04.
