Investing.com – India equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Metals and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 2.32%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 2.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH), which rose 6.92% or 1546.30 points to trade at 23903.75 at the close. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) added 6.22% or 427.50 points to end at 7287.20 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) was up 5.79% or 125.25 points to 2287.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS), which lost 3.11% or 61.65 points to trade at 1918.30 in late trade. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) declined 2.65% or 26.75 points to end at 985.15 and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY) shed 0.35% or 8.50 points to 2450.50.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which rose 5.89% to 7283.05, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was up 5.29% to settle at 768.80 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which gained 4.87% to close at 1169.40.
The worst performers were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which was down 3.10% to 1918.40 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which lost 0.54% to settle at 101.15 and Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was up 0.36% to 183.40 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1353 to 258 and 52 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1969 rose and 595 declined, while 140 ended unchanged on the India National Stock Exchange.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 9.34% to 18.6275.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.30 to $1224.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.75% or 0.53 to hit $71.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.27 to trade at $80.53 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.21% to 73.665, while EUR/INR fell 0.61% to 85.3265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.78.
