Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Household, Food and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 5.33% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.336 at the close. FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 1.67% or 0.040 points to end at 2.440 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 1.49% or 0.010 points to 0.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr), which lost 11.89% or 0.1700 points to trade at 1.2500 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 8.11% or 0.043 points to end at 0.487 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) shed 5.00% or 0.023 points to 0.429.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 27 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.90% or 24.20 to $1250.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.72% or 1.31 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.86% or 1.40 to trade at $47.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1202, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7684.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 95.36.
