Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iaso (AT:IASr), which rose 9.57% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) added 8.66% or 0.003 points to end at 0.039 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) was up 4.29% or 0.060 points to 1.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 7.11% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.2090 in late trade. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 3.76% or 0.032 points to end at 0.820 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) shed 3.61% or 0.200 points to 5.340.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 5.90 to $1319.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.67% or 0.42 to hit $63.38 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.27 to trade at $69.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1976, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 91.92.
