Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 14.19% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.169 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) added 5.32% or 0.10 points to end at 1.98 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 4.57% or 0.010 points to 0.229 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which lost 1.92% or 0.060 points to trade at 3.070 in late trade. Korres (AT:KRRr) declined 1.43% or 0.060 points to end at 4.130 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) shed 1.29% or 0.110 points to 8.410.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.46% or 5.96 to $1294.86 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.89% or 0.97 to hit $50.33 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.01 to trade at $55.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1840, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8994.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 92.97.
