Great Boulder Resources Ltd (ASX:GBR) has extended the mineralised footprint north of Mulga Bill deposit at the Side Well Gold Project in Western Australia through reverse circulation (RC) drilling 250 metres north of the current resource area.
Mulga Bill’s resource area, which hosts a mineral estimate of 568,000 ounces at 2.7 g/t gold, now covers an area of more than 2.3 kilometres of strike.
Highlight results from this round of RC drilling include 8 metres at 10.84 g/t gold from 135 metres, including 3 metres at 27.94 g/t gold from 138 metres.
Resources upgrade to come
“Reverse circulation drilling immediately north of Mulga Bill has confirmed high-grade mineralisation extending 250 metres north of the current resource envelopes,” Great Boulder managing director Andrew Paterson said.
“This program comes on the back of high-grade hits announced in this area earlier in the year, including 16 metres at 13.83 g/t gold in hole 24MBRC001.
“The new results support our expectation that we will be able to extend and increase the Mulga Bill JORC resource estimate later this year.
“The combined footprint of Mulga Bill and Mulga Bill North extends over 2.3 kilometres of strike, and we’ve really only scratched the surface of the northern half of that zone with relatively shallow drilling.
“The RC rig has now moved onto resource definition targets at Mulga Bill. This program is designed to infill and extend areas of the inferred resource to upgrade those ounces to JORC indicated category.
“We will then return to greenfields targets, with a first-pass aircore program at Side Well South in late September.”
Other highlights from this 14-hole program include:
- 6 metres at 7.62 g/t gold from 136 metres;
- 8 metres at 2.02 g/t from 72 metres, including 4 metres at 3.86 g/t from 72 metres; and
- 5 metres at 1.98 g/t from 117 metres.
GBR has also drilled two deeper diamond holes at Mulga Bill, testing high-grade vein positions to 500 metres below surface – those results are expected in October, with an updated mineral resource estimate for Mulga Bill to follow in the second half of this calendar year.
