Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Consumer & Cyclical and Software sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.23%, while the MDAX index lost 0.22%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 1.50% or 1.08 points to trade at 72.90 at the close. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) added 1.48% or 0.280 points to end at 19.245 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was up 0.88% or 0.077 points to 8.857 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Linde AG 1 (DE:LIN1), which lost 2.49% or 4.9000 points to trade at 192.2000 in late trade. Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) declined 2.36% or 2.50 points to end at 103.55 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) shed 1.26% or 0.800 points to 62.800.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 2.81% to 18.480, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was up 2.12% to settle at 77.250 and Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which gained 1.78% to close at 13.7100.
The worst performers were Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which was down 3.19% to 26.70 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 2.65% to settle at 43.40 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 2.21% to 41.580 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which rose 3.05% to 21.95, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 1.78% to settle at 42.280 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 1.67% to close at 40.220.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.00% to 9.986 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 1.39% to settle at 38.00 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was down 1.09% to 19.420 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 369 to 317 and 96 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.20% to 15.40.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.10 to $1207.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $68.56 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.56% to 1.1688, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 94.07.
