Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Industrials and Software sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.52%, while the MDAX index added 1.42%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 2.58% or 1.65 points to trade at 65.52 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 2.42% or 4.60 points to end at 194.30 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 1.83% or 0.285 points to 15.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which lost 2.44% or 1.070 points to trade at 42.860 in late trade. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) declined 1.33% or 0.200 points to end at 14.865 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) shed 1.22% or 0.720 points to 58.080.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which rose 5.49% to 58.040, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which was up 4.57% to settle at 167.20 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which gained 4.53% to close at 58.800.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 3.52% to 76.160 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 2.98% to settle at 35.15 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 1.72% to 45.68 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Patrizia Immobilien AG (DE:PATGn) which rose 5.83% to 17.800, Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which was up 4.57% to settle at 27.4400 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 4.55% to close at 32.370.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 6.17% to 70.00 in late trade, Rhoen Klinikum AG (DE:RHKG) which lost 4.32% to settle at 22.140 and Tele Columbus AG (DE:TC1n) which was down 2.91% to 3.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 493 to 215 and 70 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.19% to 20.61.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.34% or 4.40 to $1285.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.47% or 1.20 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.27% or 1.30 to trade at $58.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1443, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.9000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.493.
