Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.32%, while the MDAX index gained 0.54%, and the TecDAX index added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 1.56% or 0.320 points to trade at 20.825 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 1.46% or 1.260 points to end at 87.460 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was up 1.22% or 1.140 points to 94.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 0.74% or 0.190 points to trade at 25.660 in late trade. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.59% or 0.21 points to end at 36.22 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) shed 0.58% or 1.20 points to 205.75.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which rose 3.44% to 18.515, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was up 3.15% to settle at 21.640 and Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which gained 2.26% to close at 65.500.
The worst performers were Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which was down 1.23% to 10.000 in late trade, Bilfinger SE O.N. (DE:GBFG) which lost 1.16% to settle at 33.545 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 0.91% to 73.730 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which rose 5.64% to 18.911, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was up 3.14% to settle at 5.611 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 2.80% to close at 68.550.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 1.34% to 48.450 in late trade, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which lost 0.76% to settle at 32.47 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 0.49% to 264.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 476 to 278 and 35 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.14% to 11.97 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.05% or 13.90 to $1311.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.91% or 0.46 to hit $49.98 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.46 to trade at $55.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1926, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.8851.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 91.91.
