Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Telecoms and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.02%, while the MDAX index added 0.05%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which rose 3.12% or 0.470 points to trade at 15.555 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) added 2.01% or 0.450 points to end at 22.850 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) was up 1.77% or 0.495 points to 28.435 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which lost 1.62% or 0.415 points to trade at 25.245 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) declined 1.03% or 0.110 points to end at 10.580 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) shed 0.99% or 1.95 points to 194.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which rose 2.86% to 19.045, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which was up 2.76% to settle at 71.820 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 1.66% to close at 93.090.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 3.64% to 71.440 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which lost 1.09% to settle at 38.425 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 0.92% to 55.000 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which rose 3.28% to 26.600, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 2.02% to settle at 95.460 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 1.52% to close at 74.350.
The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 0.96% to 12.850 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 0.54% to settle at 51.980 and S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 0.48% to 18.781 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 394 to 363 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.84% to 11.75 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 2.04 to $1312.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.54% or 0.27 to hit $50.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.40 to trade at $55.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1982, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 91.65.
