Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.99%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (PA:ACCP), which rose 6.73% or 2.55 points to trade at 40.45 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 1.64% or 0.074 points to end at 4.587 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.84% or 2.00 points to 240.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP), which lost 5.47% or 3.59 points to trade at 62.04 in late trade. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 3.87% or 3.23 points to end at 80.28 and Airbus Group (PA:AIR) shed 3.53% or 1.95 points to 53.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which rose 6.73% to 40.45, Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was up 2.18% to settle at 29.555 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech (PA:STDM) which gained 1.86% to close at 60.25.
The worst performers were Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) which was down 5.47% to 62.04 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 3.99% to settle at 3.176 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which was down 3.87% to 80.28 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 417 to 238 and 115 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.77% to 21.66.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 2.47% or 29.90 to $1242.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.94 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $49.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.69% to 1.1341, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.7810.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.56% at 94.07.
