Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.30%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which rose 1.97% or 0.71 points to trade at 37.06 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 0.29% or 0.40 points to end at 136.00 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 0.20% or 0.035 points to 17.705 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which lost 2.99% or 14.40 points to trade at 468.00 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 2.73% or 0.35 points to end at 12.63 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) shed 2.66% or 8.25 points to 301.85.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which rose 5.07% to 1.181, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) which was up 1.97% to settle at 37.06 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 1.53% to close at 25.220.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which was down 10.22% to 27.31 in late trade, Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which lost 6.38% to settle at 27.30 and Edenred (PA:EDEN) which was down 5.03% to 32.83 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 370 to 193 and 105 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.60% to 14.59.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.70 to $1205.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.40% or 0.28 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.16 to trade at $77.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1592, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8949.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 95.12.
