Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.56%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which rose 1.51% or 1.60 points to trade at 107.85 at the close. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) added 1.16% or 0.69 points to end at 59.95 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 0.39% or 0.07 points to 16.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which lost 1.88% or 7.35 points to trade at 384.15 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) declined 1.87% or 0.385 points to end at 20.205 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) shed 1.56% or 0.74 points to 46.76.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euler Hermes (PA:ELER) which rose 20.09% to 121.35, Ingenico Group (PA:INGC) which was up 3.68% to settle at 85.13 and ICADE (PA:ICAD) which gained 2.16% to close at 79.08.
The worst performers were Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was down 3.79% to 5.080 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 3.63% to settle at 40.215 and GTT (PA:GTT) which was down 3.29% to 44.33 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 371 to 242 and 82 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.19% to 11.90.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.60% or 7.73 to $1295.03 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.46% or 0.86 to hit $58.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $63.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1907, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 92.78.
