Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.38%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which rose 2.71% or 2.68 points to trade at 101.50 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) added 0.48% or 0.33 points to end at 68.89 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) was up 0.47% or 0.27 points to 57.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (PA:NOKIA), which lost 1.45% or 0.076 points to trade at 5.165 in late trade. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 1.39% or 1.80 points to end at 127.95 and Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) shed 1.12% or 0.53 points to 46.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sodexo (PA:EXHO) which rose 2.71% to 101.50, Rexel (PA:RXL) which was up 2.02% to settle at 12.89 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which gained 1.95% to close at 56.07.
The worst performers were Gemalto (AS:GTO) which was down 10.04% to 38.60 in late trade, Spie SA (PA:SPIE) which lost 2.27% to settle at 23.455 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 2.27% to 24.540 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 350 to 247 and 83 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 14.52% to 15.47.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 8.13 to $1338.53 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $47.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.35 to trade at $52.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1914, while EUR/GBP rose 0.57% to 0.9217.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.49.
