Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.39%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 5.30% or 6.20 points to trade at 123.25 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 4.37% or 4.38 points to end at 104.56 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was up 3.00% or 0.62 points to 21.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which lost 0.26% or 0.30 points to trade at 113.40 in late trade. Danone SA (PA:DANO) declined 0.18% or 0.12 points to end at 65.31 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) shed 0.17% or 0.07 points to 37.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which rose 5.66% to 25.78, Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was up 5.30% to settle at 123.25 and Rexel (PA:RXL) which gained 4.99% to close at 13.36.
The worst performers were Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which was down 3.47% to 83.450 in late trade, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which lost 3.10% to settle at 39.33 and Amundi SA (PA:AMUN) which was down 2.71% to 63.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 346 to 206 and 114 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 8.39% to 10.89 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.46% or 6.00 to $1307.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $66.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.68 to trade at $76.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.42% to 1.1624, while EUR/GBP fell 0.77% to 0.8748.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.07% at 94.56.
