Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.78%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which rose 3.33% or 9.85 points to trade at 305.85 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 1.98% or 2.10 points to end at 108.25 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was up 1.83% or 3.70 points to 206.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renault SA (PA:RENA), which lost 2.13% or 1.66 points to trade at 76.33 in late trade. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 2.07% or 3.66 points to end at 172.80 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) shed 1.88% or 0.47 points to 24.57.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vicat (PA:VCTP) which rose 6.74% to 55.45, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was up 3.42% to settle at 20.26 and Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which gained 3.38% to close at 7.500.
The worst performers were Teleperformance (PA:ROCH) which was down 3.79% to 159.90 in late trade, Orpea (PA:ORP) which lost 2.99% to settle at 111.75 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which was down 2.59% to 31.640 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 334 to 239 and 103 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.03% to 12.15 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 9.20 to $1202.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.97% or 0.68 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $78.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1744, while EUR/GBP rose 1.19% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 93.82.
