Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.58%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which rose 2.42% or 0.90 points to trade at 38.10 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) added 2.09% or 2.65 points to end at 129.60 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.03% or 0.295 points to 14.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which lost 13.13% or 2.56 points to trade at 16.94 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) declined 1.92% or 2.25 points to end at 114.80 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) shed 1.00% or 0.57 points to 56.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 4.91% to 25.000, Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was up 3.75% to settle at 3.070 and Aeroports De Paris SA (PA:ADP) which gained 3.74% to close at 149.85.
The worst performers were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which was down 13.13% to 16.94 in late trade, Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which lost 2.84% to settle at 47.76 and Arkema (PA:AKE) which was down 1.94% to 91.28 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 350 to 212 and 108 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.16% to 14.73.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 9.14 to $1323.24 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.57% or 1.18 to hit $47.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 3.59% or 1.82 to trade at $52.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9216.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.82.
