Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.25%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which rose 2.87% or 1.12 points to trade at 40.28 at the close. STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) added 2.53% or 0.400 points to end at 16.185 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 2.24% or 0.335 points to 15.315 in late trade.
Biggest losers included L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP), which lost 1.68% or 3.05 points to trade at 178.00 in late trade. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) declined 1.22% or 0.77 points to end at 62.14 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) shed 1.07% or 0.71 points to 65.78.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost (PA:NPOS) which rose 6.66% to 35.05, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which was up 4.25% to settle at 35.07 and GTT (PA:GTT) which gained 2.94% to close at 46.17.
The worst performers were DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was down 4.59% to 67.710 in late trade, Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which lost 2.00% to settle at 68.95 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech (PA:STDM) which was down 1.95% to 60.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 299 to 286 and 96 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.61% to 11.77.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 11.26 to $1290.44 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.44% or 0.23 to hit $52.11 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.44 to trade at $57.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1768, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 93.07.
