Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which rose 1.98% or 6.70 points to trade at 344.35 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 1.21% or 1.45 points to end at 120.80 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.19% or 0.17 points to 14.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR), which lost 2.25% or 1.83 points to trade at 79.44 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) declined 1.16% or 0.180 points to end at 15.335 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 1.10% or 0.250 points to 22.520.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rexel (PA:RXL) which rose 2.00% to 14.28, Kering SA (PA:PRTP) which was up 1.98% to settle at 344.35 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which gained 1.62% to close at 10.64.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 2.62% to 23.94 in late trade, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which lost 2.25% to settle at 79.44 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech (PA:STDM) which was down 1.64% to 57.67 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 324 to 284 and 78 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.38% to 11.85.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 10.28 to $1285.18 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.75% or 0.37 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.28 to trade at $55.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
