Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.81% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.03% or 0.1350 points to trade at 13.2150 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 0.91% or 0.029 points to end at 3.200 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 0.90% or 0.130 points to 14.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.37% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.9050 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.15% or 0.3800 points to end at 17.3200 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 1.98% or 0.0560 points to 2.7780.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.74% or 0.80 to $46.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.71% or 0.74 to hit $44.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.03 to trade at $1247.43 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.14% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP rose 0.64% to 0.8845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 96.36.
