Investing.com – China equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate Investments & Services, Travel & Leisure and Life Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.41%, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Zhejiang Qianjiang Biochemical Co Ltd (SS:600796), which rose 10.07% or 0.540 points to trade at 5.900 at the close. Shenzhen Geoway Co Ltd (SS:600462) added 10.07% or 0.280 points to end at 3.060 and Yaxing Chem (SS:600319) was up 10.07% or 0.450 points to 4.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jiangsu Hongtu High Technology Co Ltd (SS:600122), which lost 10.06% or 0.670 points to trade at 5.990 in late trade. Eastern Gold Jade Co Ltd (SS:600086) declined 9.96% or 0.900 points to end at 8.140 and Zhejiang Shenghua Biok Biology Co Ltd (SS:600226) shed 7.53% or 0.250 points to 3.070.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SZ:300274) which rose 10.08% to 6.88, Hunan TV & Broadcast Intermediary Co Ltd (SZ:000917) which was up 9.91% to settle at 4.77 and Chongqing Tong Jun Ge Co Ltd (SZ:000591) which gained 7.21% to close at 3.27.
The worst performers were Wanda Cinema Line Corp (SZ:002739) which was down 10.01% to 31.10 in late trade, Beijing Shouhang Resources Saving Co Ltd (SZ:002665) which lost 10.00% to settle at 5.22 and Maanshan Fangyuan Slewing Ring Co Ltd (SZ:002147) which was down 9.96% to 10.76 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 899 to 509 and 63 ended unchanged on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 30.88.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.60 to $1233.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.44% or 0.28 to hit $62.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.16 to trade at $72.67 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.03% to 6.8933, while EUR/CNY rose 0.46% to 7.8857.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 96.25.
