Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 3.44% or 0.33 points to trade at 9.93 at the close. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) added 2.43% or 0.26 points to end at 10.95 and CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) was up 2.41% or 0.18 points to 7.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which lost 7.73% or 2.51 points to trade at 29.94 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 3.98% or 0.61 points to end at 14.72 and Banco Santander Brasil SA Unit (SA:SANB11) shed 3.41% or 0.87 points to 24.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 173 and 32 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.99% to 35.93.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.75% or 9.58 to $1269.92 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $45.84 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.16% or 0.20 to trade at $126.53 .
USD/BRL was up 0.95% to 3.2931, while EUR/BRL rose 0.78% to 3.6874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 97.24.
