Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Financials and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were CCR SA (SA:CCRO3), which rose 4.44% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.46 at the close. IGUATEMI ON NM (SA:IGTA3) added 2.71% or 0.82 points to end at 31.05 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) was up 1.24% or 0.59 points to 47.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11), which lost 8.86% or 1.46 points to trade at 15.02 in late trade. Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4) declined 4.74% or 0.55 points to end at 11.05 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) shed 3.68% or 0.41 points to 10.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 225 to 209 and 38 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.70% to 48.25.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 7.60 to $1195.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.96% or 1.41 to hit $73.53 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 3.17% or 3.15 to trade at $102.40 .
USD/BRL was up 0.90% to 4.0477, while EUR/BRL rose 0.57% to 4.6983.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 94.79.
