Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 3.50% or 1.00 points to trade at 29.60 at the close. Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) added 3.29% or 0.69 points to end at 21.64 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) was up 1.89% or 0.21 points to 11.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which lost 3.50% or 0.67 points to trade at 18.46 in late trade. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 3.05% or 0.56 points to end at 17.80 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) shed 2.99% or 1.20 points to 38.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 213 to 165 and 36 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.86% to 31.11.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.02% or 13.40 to $1298.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.08 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.34% or 0.45 to trade at $132.27 .
USD/BRL was up 0.19% to 3.1651, while EUR/BRL fell 0.31% to 3.7310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 92.83.
