Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.38% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 6.77% or 0.68 points to trade at 10.73 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 5.27% or 0.300 points to end at 5.990 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) was up 4.86% or 0.97 points to 20.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which lost 4.35% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.42 in late trade. Vale SA (SA:VALE3) declined 4.21% or 0.74 points to end at 16.84 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) shed 3.09% or 0.080 points to 2.510.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 187 to 113 and 27 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.82% to 33.12 a new 6-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.55 to $1332.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.09% or 0.50 to hit $45.44 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.87% or 2.80 to trade at $146.82 .
USD/BRL was down 0.01% to 3.2539, while EUR/BRL fell 0.49% to 3.5863.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 97.07.
