Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.12% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (SA:BRFS3), which rose 6.48% or 1.44 points to trade at 23.66 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) added 6.27% or 1.82 points to end at 30.86 and Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) was up 6.04% or 0.87 points to 15.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Log Commercial Properties e Participacoes SA (SA:LOGG3), which lost 5.21% or 1.00 points to trade at 18.20 in late trade. Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) declined 4.05% or 0.87 points to end at 20.63 and B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) shed 2.42% or 1.16 points to 46.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 288 to 143 and 34 ended unchanged on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.58% to 31.06.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.22% or 2.85 to $1290.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $52.40 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.34% or 0.35 to trade at $102.75 .
USD/BRL was up 0.39% to 3.7506, while EUR/BRL rose 0.30% to 4.2710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.740.
