Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption, Industrials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.33% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which rose 3.20% or 0.59 points to trade at 19.00 at the close. Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) added 3.05% or 0.99 points to end at 33.49 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 2.41% or 0.34 points to 14.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3), which lost 3.25% or 2.07 points to trade at 61.65 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) declined 2.15% or 0.53 points to end at 24.16 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) shed 2.10% or 0.45 points to 21.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 157 and 29 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.57% to 29.88.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 5.83 to $1326.87 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.30% or 1.11 to hit $49.34 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.10% or 2.83 to trade at $137.65 .
USD/BRL was up 0.39% to 3.1382, while EUR/BRL fell 0.28% to 3.7301.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 92.41.
