Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrial Engineering, Banking and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.98% or 1.860 points to trade at 95.880 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 1.77% or 1.06 points to end at 60.82 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 1.20% or 0.122 points to 10.274 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 3.38% or 0.83 points to trade at 23.70 in late trade. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 2.20% or 0.17 points to end at 7.57 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 2.08% or 1.60 points to 75.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 43 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.20% or 2.45 to $1247.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.49% or 0.76 to hit $51.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.55 to trade at $60.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1362, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8993.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.097.
