Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.59% or 4.00 points to trade at 91.20 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 3.13% or 1.57 points to end at 51.67 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 3.01% or 0.15 points to 5.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which lost 2.31% or 1.69 points to trade at 71.57 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.76% or 1.09 points to end at 60.80 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) shed 1.64% or 0.42 points to 25.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 277 to 240 and 190 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.70% or 0.31 to $43.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 1.00% or 0.46 to hit $45.34 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1253.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.96% to 4.3091, while USD/PLN rose 0.91% to 3.8110.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.46.
