Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 added 47.4 points or 0.7% to 6,896.1 during Friday’s trading session, finishing the week 1% higher as risk sentiment turned positive amid a weaker US dollar and lower oil prices.
Among stocks, Materials finished 3.3% higher as Rio Tinto Ltd (ASX:RIO) added 2.7%, BHP Group Ltd (ASX:BHP) gained 3.2%, Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG) lifted 6.1% and Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:CIA) added 4.7%.
Energy gained 1% overall as Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:WDS) lifted 1.3%, Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) gained 1% and South32 Ltd (ASX:S32) lifted 3.4%.
Meantime, Consumer Staples dipped 1.2% as Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) fell 1.1%, Tabcorp Holdings Ltd (ASX:TAH) fell 0.5% and Aristocrat Leisure Ltd (ASX:ALL) fell 1.1%.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year yields were at 3.662% while United States 10-Year rates were at 3-month highs of 3.325%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 0.7% to 11,757.8.
