Australian spacesuit technology startup company Metakosmos (Vyom Tech Pty Ltd) will share in $9 million in grants through the Mars Supply Chain Capability program to develop its integrated commercial spacesuit program, the Kosmosuit.
Twelve Australian space projects aligned with NASA’s Artemis mission will share more than $9 million in funding to help drive innovation and support emerging Australian science.
The Moon to Mars grants are designed to increase Australian industry’s capability and capacity to support NASA’s Moon and Mars missions, grow Australian participation in the supply chains that will support said missions, and build the skills, capabilities and capacity of the Australian space industry.

Metakosmos says the $250,000 grant will allow the company to improve the technological readiness of the Kosmosuit, which has been built with dual-use terrestrial applications.
The firm is designing several different suits based on environmental conditions, including micro-gravity, lunar and Martian surfaces, and wholly space-based missions.
The project aims to establish connectivity between subsystems and the proprietary bioastronautics interface, which will be deployed at various centres.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to receive this grant. Metakosmos would like to thank the Australian Government, the Minister for Industry & Science Ed Husic and the Australian Space Agency,” Metakosmos CEO Kiriti Rambhatla said.
“This is a great investment into the future of the Australian space supply chain and ecosystem. I believe that this recognition demonstrates that Metakosmos is a promising contributor to the Australian space supply chain.
“We look forward to successfully delivering the project with our partners and taking this project to international markets.”
