Investing.com - The S&P/ASX 200 added 35.1 points or 0.5% to 6,794.3 during Thursday’s deals, extending gains of 1.7% in the previous session as risk sentiment was boosted amid robust earnings from major U.S. companies.
Among stocks, Information Technology surged 3.2% as Block Inc (ASX:SQ2) added 6.7%, Appen Ltd (ASX:APX) lifted 1.6%, Megaport Ltd (ASX:MP1) gained 3.5%, Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX:LNK) surged 13.6% and Novonix Ltd (ASX:NVX) rallied 11.7%.
Health Care gained 1.6% as Sonic Healthcare Ltd (ASX:SHL) added 2.2%, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd (ASX:FPH) gained 3%,% and Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) lifted 5.7%.
Energy was down 1.1% with Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:WDS) falling 4.4%, Beach Energy Ltd (ASX:BPT) dipping 1.6% and Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) down 1.9%.
On the bond markets, Australia 10-Year rates were at 3.602% while United States 10-Year yields were at 3.047%.
In New Zealand, the NZX 50 added 0.6% to 11,269.8.
