Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 1.85% or 0.115 points to trade at 6.335 at the close. Amer Sports Corporation (HE:AMEAS) added 1.40% or 0.31 points to end at 22.51 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 1.26% or 0.32 points to 25.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 0.74% or 0.0550 points to trade at 7.3300 in late trade. Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) declined 0.72% or 0.40 points to end at 55.30 and Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1) shed 0.60% or 0.024 points to 3.992.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 58 and 19 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 3.04% or 1.51 to $48.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 3.59% or 1.69 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.10 to trade at $1223.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 96.09.
