Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.16% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which rose 2.93% or 1.18 points to trade at 41.51 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.90% or 0.100 points to end at 3.550 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 2.25% or 0.38 points to 17.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which lost 0.20% or 0.010 points to trade at 5.020 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 0.06% or 0.005 points to end at 8.820 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) gained 0.03% or 0.01 points to 31.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 52 and 18 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1219.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.7630.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.30.
