Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Tourism and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM), which rose 6.86% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.870 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.72% or 16.80 points to end at 310.50 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was up 5.36% or 1.04 points to 20.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included T.S.K.B. (IS:TSKB), which lost 2.94% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.650 in late trade. Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) declined 2.37% or 0.40 points to end at 16.46 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) shed 1.76% or 0.80 points to 44.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 137 and 87 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.10% or 1.20 to $1229.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.13% or 1.50 to hit $37.84 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.97% or 1.15 to trade at $39.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 2.9175, while EUR/TRY rose 0.46% to 3.2353.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 96.87.
