Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.79% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 4.21% or 9.820 points to trade at 242.920 at the close. Meanwhile, Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) added 2.25% or 2.280 points to end at 103.400 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.90% or 0.740 points to 39.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 4.31% or 15.390 points to trade at 341.910 at the close. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) declined 3.94% or 0.450 points to end at 10.970 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 2.41% or 4.250 points to 172.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 97 to 57 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 1.35% or 14.60 to $1093.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.66% or 2.04 to hit $33.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 5.94% or 2.17 to trade at $34.26 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.03% to 17.5217, while EUR/MXN rose 1.42% to 18.9025.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 99.30.
