Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 3.74% or 0.0014 points to trade at 0.0388 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 3.44% or 0.2530 points to end at 7.6030 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was up 3.04% or 0.0090 points to 0.3050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 1.77% or 0.0520 points to trade at 2.8800 in late trade. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 0.72% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.4150 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 0.09% or 0.0060 points to 6.5370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 3.80% or 1.41 to $38.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.33% or 1.15 to hit $35.72 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.00% or 12.60 to trade at $1270.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1006, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7739.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.27.
