Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 3.60% or 1.390 points to trade at 39.500 at the close. Meanwhile, El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 2.02% or 4.190 points to end at 211.970 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 1.72% or 1.21 points to 71.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 2.50% or 0.320 points to trade at 12.480 at the close. America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) declined 2.39% or 0.360 points to end at 14.690 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 2.36% or 0.850 points to 35.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 100 to 57 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.60% or 1.390 to 39.500. Shares in America Movil L, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.39% or 0.360 to 14.690.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.72% or 8.20 to $1124.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $46.30 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.14 to trade at $49.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.39% to 16.8943, while EUR/MXN rose 0.80% to 18.7952.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.50.
