Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 3.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 12.11% or 0.0023 points to trade at 0.0213 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 5.79% or 0.1750 points to end at 3.1960 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 4.00% or 0.1140 points to 2.9640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.48% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.1280 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 0.58% or 0.003 points to end at 0.513 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) gained 0.18% or 0.0020 points to 1.1150.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 42 to 9 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.58% or 1.27 to $50.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.51% or 1.22 to hit $49.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.38% or 4.90 to trade at $1289.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 1.95% to 0.7700.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 93.71.
