Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 8.57% or 0.2360 points to trade at 2.9900 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 3.07% or 0.122 points to end at 4.100 and Metso Oyj (HE:MEO1V) was up 1.95% or 0.45 points to 23.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which fell 1.26% or 0.44 points to trade at 34.54 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) declined 0.67% or 0.22 points to end at 32.54 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was down 0.15% or 0.010 points to 6.855.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 123 to 56 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.74% or 0.81 to $45.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.37% or 0.59 to hit $42.45 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1069.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.0611, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 99.88.
