Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AMS:ATCA), which rose 5.86% or 1.03 points to trade at 18.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) added 3.14% or 0.72 points to end at 23.67 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) was up 2.02% or 0.56 points to 28.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which fell 1.29% or 0.47 points to trade at 36.02 at the close. Heineken (AMS:HEIN) declined 0.69% or 0.52 points to end at 74.73 and Aegon (AMS:AEGN) was down 0.62% or 0.033 points to 5.269.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 109 to 61 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.05% to 25.77 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 4.11% or 1.90 to $48.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 4.78% or 2.35 to hit $51.60 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.88% or 10.00 to trade at $1147.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1271, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7400.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.69% at 95.56.
