Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Electricity and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Good-Year (IS:GOODY), which rose 19.98% or 22.60 points to trade at 135.70 at the close. Vestel (IS:VESTL) added 4.63% or 0.260 points to end at 5.870 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) was up 4.37% or 1.72 points to 41.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which lost 3.77% or 13.00 points to trade at 332.00 in late trade. Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) declined 2.66% or 2.30 points to end at 84.20 and Bim Magazalar (IS:BIMAS) shed 2.01% or 1.25 points to 61.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 139 and 84 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.69% or 8.50 to $1237.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.91% or 0.35 to hit $38.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.49 to trade at $40.54 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.51% to 2.8212, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 3.2149.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.54.
