Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were BBVA (MC:BBVA), which rose 2.97% or 0.181 points to trade at 6.267 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 2.39% or 0.031 points to end at 1.329 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 2.24% or 0.113 points to 5.163 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which lost 0.96% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.45 in late trade. Enagas (MC:ENAG) declined 0.89% or 0.205 points to end at 22.960 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) shed 0.61% or 0.035 points to 5.679.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 57 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.23% or 2.75 to $1212.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.33% or 0.70 to hit $53.45 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.44 to trade at $55.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0758, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8586.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 100.03.
